Be Still, My Soul

Lyrics & Information
LyricsAbout the song…
Be still, my soul: The Lord is on thy side;
With patience bear they cross of grief or pain.
Leave to thy God to order and provide;
In every change He faithful will remain.
Be still, my soul: Thy best, thy heav’nly Friend
Through thorny ways leads to a joyful end.

Be still, my soul: Thy God doth undertake
To guide the future as He has the past.
Thy hope, thy confidence let nothing shake;
All now mysterious shall be bright at last.
Be still, my soul: The waves and winds still know
His voice who ruled them while He dwelt below.

Be still my soul: The hour is hastening on
When we shall be forever with the Lord,
When disappointment, grief and fear are gone,
Sorrow forgot, love’s purest joys restored.
Be still, my soul: When change and tears are past,
All safe and blessed we shall meet at last.

Music: Jean Sibelius, from “Finlandia”

    Is there a leaders copy of sheet music that has the accompaniment plus the vocal parts all on the same copy? It’s difficult to add the vocal parts to the Solo copy so I know as a director when to bring the other parties in. Didn’t see that version in your available downloads.

    Am I able to transpose the Accompaniment Track to a different key? We want to sing this at our Stake Trek at the end of this month and for reading purposes, wondered if we are able to transpose it up or down a half step since it was recorded in (I think) E-flat. Personally, I wanted to play the violin part live and playing it in a four-flat key isn’t as easy as two-sharps, for example. But, I wanted to play the violin and the youth sing it to the recording. I know I can print it in any key, but I wondered if I can take the recording and also transpose that to any key.
